Japan Cars Europe

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Japanese auction platforms reliable?

Yes, we only use trusted Japanese auction networks that are transparent and well-regulated. They handle millions of vehicles annually with strict inspection standards.

Do vehicles get inspected before purchase?

All vehicles are assessed by licensed third-party inspectors before auction. We provide full inspection sheets showing condition, damage, mileage, and rating.

How long does shipping take?

Total shipping typically takes 3-4 months depending on the location of the auction and the shipping schedule.

What payment methods are accepted?

We currently accept only secure international wire transfers. Other payment options like credit cards or PayPal are not supported.

Is a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) required?

Vehicles from 1997 onward typically need a CoC for registration in Europe. The cost is approximately €600 with VAT. Older vehicles are generally exempt.

Do you deliver to countries outside Estonia?

Yes. If you can't pick up the vehicle in Estonia, we can arrange transport to most European countries. We will quote delivery upon request.

How much is your service fee?

Our service fee is €1,200 (plus VAT) for vehicles priced under €25,000. For higher-value vehicles, the fee is 7% of the car's auction price.

Do I need to pay anything to bid for cars?

We require a refundable 25% deposit. This confirms your intent and gives you full access to available vehicles.

How is the payment process structured?

The process is split into two invoices:

  • Invoice 1: Car price, export fees (approx. 8–10%), JCE fee.
  • Invoice 2: Shipping (~€2,500), port costs, import taxes (10%), unloading, transport in Europe, and registration.

VAT (22%) is added on both invoices.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes, you’ll receive tracking details after the vehicle has been dispatched, and we’ll keep you updated until delivery is complete.
